Countdown Number 3 TVRFU Centenary

After a slow start to the year the 1953 team won four of their last five games.

A 37 – 8 win over Poverty Bay (their record highest score at the time), 19 – 16 over Hawkes Bay, 15 – 12 against Waikato and finally beating Auckland 12 – 3.

Up until 1952 the Valley always played Auckland B teams.
