{"id":3246,"date":"2024-01-10T10:10:45","date_gmt":"2024-01-09T21:10:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thamesvalleyswampfoxes.co.nz\/?p=3246"},"modified":"2024-03-13T12:44:13","modified_gmt":"2024-03-12T23:44:13","slug":"obituary-don-mcmillan-thames-valley-626","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thamesvalleyswampfoxes.co.nz\/?p=3246","title":{"rendered":"Obituary: Don McMillan Thames Valley #626"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"xdj266r x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Don McMillan Thames Valley Representative #626<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">It is with sadness that we report the death of Donald George McMillan in Uganda on 3rd January 2024.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Don represented Thames Valley from 1976 to 1978 appearing in 28 games and scoring 11 tries.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">He is well remembered for his runaway try when playing for Counties\/Thames Valley against the 1977 Lions. Don ran almost 80 metres to score with Mike Gibson in hot pursuit while the rest of the players sorted out some &#8220;how&#8217;s your father&#8221; back inside C\/TV&#8217;s 22.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Don also played for Poverty Bay and a Colin Meads&#8217;
