November 24, 2023 NEWS

David Harrison and Joe Murray confirmed as Thames Valley Swamp Foxes Head Coaches for 2024.

The Thames Valley Rugby Union are delighted to announce the reappointment of David Harrison and Joe Murray as Head Coaches of the Thames Valley Swamp Foxes for 2024. After a successful and challenging season in 2023, Thames Valley finished in the Meads Cup (Top 4) section in what was one of the most competitive Heartland Championship competitions to date – a testament to the time, commitment and quality of David and Joe’s leadership and coaching prowess. Winning five competition games in a row, retaining the Centurions Cup and The Game Cup, beating Poverty Bay at home for the first time since the beginning of the Heartland Championship and debuting 24 new players were just some of the memorable highlights from 2023. Planning has already begun to improve key aspects of our game moving forward, to ensure we put our best foot forward to win the Meads Cup.

“The passion for the game, the love for this team, the drive for our province. Instilling pride in our communities is what helps motivate us to keep getting better. Bring on 2024”

David and Joe will be joined alongside Leon Holden and Murray Driver, who return as assistant coaches respectively. Leon and Murray bring a lot of experience and knowledge to the table which enables them to build on the foundations laid in 2023.

Chief Executive Officer of TVRU, Scott Penney has said this is extremely exciting news for Thames Valley Rugby as we move towards growing rugby in our great Province.

More information, including the 2024 Premier Club Draw and Heartland Championship Draw will be announced over the comings months.
